Both Steelix and Tyranitar are powerful Pokémon with their own unique strengths. Steelix is a Steel/Ground type with high defense and great physical attack, making it a sturdy tank in battles. On the other hand, Tyranitar is a Rock/Dark type with high attack and special defense, making it a versatile and strong attacker. Ultimately, the choice between Steelix and Tyranitar depends on your team composition and battle strategy. **

To breed a Steelix in Pokémon Sword and Shield, you will need a female Onix or Steelix and a male Pokémon in the same egg group. Place both Pokémon in the Pokémon Nursery located on Route 5 in the Wild Area. After leaving them in the nursery for some time, the Pokémon will produce an egg that will hatch into a baby Onix. Level up the baby Onix to level 30 while it is holding a Metal Coat to evolve it into a Steelix. **

In Pokémon Gold, you can evolve Onix into Steelix by trading it while holding a Metal Coat. Once you have a Metal Coat in your inventory, initiate a trade with another player or use a second Game Boy to trade with yourself. During the trade, Onix will evolve into Steelix. Keep in mind that Steelix will only evolve from Onix if it is holding the Metal Coat during the trade process. **
